Stacy Austin Egan was born and raised in Austin, TX. Her fiction chapbook You Could Stop it Here was published by PANK Books in 2018 and was an honorable mention for the 2019 Eric Hoffer Book Awards. Her short stories have appeared or are forthcoming in PANK Magazine, Driftwood Press, WomenArts Quarterly Journal, The New Plains Review, The MacGuffin, Black Fox Literary Magazine, Philadelphia Stories, and december magazine, and her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize. She completed her first novel recently and is at work on a second. She holds an M.F.A. from McNeese State University and a B.A. from New York University. She traded the city for the swamps and the swamps for the desert and currently lives in west Texas with her husband and best reader, Brendan. Together, they have two children, two cats, and a whole lot of chaos. She teaches writing and literature at Midland College.
